Dear Kiwanis Community Parade Participant,
This is your invitation to join the Kiwanis Club of St.
Helens for the 2009 Kiwanis Community Parade in St. Helens, Oregon on Saturday
June 20, 2009. The parade is brought to you by our sponsors: Ace Hardware,
Columbia River PUD, and Pacific Stainless Products, Inc.
If you have received this invitation and you are no longer
associated with the group when you were last in our parade, please pass this on
to whoever may now be representing that group. This invitation and registration
form may also be down-loaded from
www.sainthelenskiwanis.org. Participation in the parade is free
of charge but the application form must be completed either by pre-registration
or by registration the day of the parade.
All motorized vehicles and mounted horse entries will be
required to have liability insurance. Please indicate that insurance is
current by signing the registration form at the designated place. If you plan
to ride a horse in the parade please see the accompanying page. To speed
you through registration and help us avoid the last minute rush, please take the
time to fill out the registration form in advance and return it to the address
below at least by June 10, 2009:

The parade begins at noon. To insure that you are in your
proper place in the staging area please arrive prior to 10:45 a.m. If you
arrive any later, we can not insure that your entry will be judged. A first,
second, third, and fourth place ribbon will be awarded in each category. In
addition, three grand prize winners will be chosen which are the Mayor’s Trophy,
the President’s Trophy, and the Sweepstakes Trophy. The three trophies will be
awarded to the entries who best utilize or portray the parade theme.
This year’s parade theme is: “Happy
Birthday Oregon”
When you
arrive in St. Helens, report to the Registration Table, on Columbia Boulevard,
just across the railroad tracks from Highway 30. Registration will be set-up
across Columbia Blvd. from Emmert Motors in their used car lot. If you have
filled-out the enclosed form and mailed it in advance, please tell the
registration workers that you have pre-registered and give them the person’s
name on the registration form. This will speed-up processing and the assignment
of your entry number. Without an entry number your entry will not be judged.
The entry number also determines where you will assemble prior to the parade.
