Kiwanis International, is a world wide associations of Kiwanis
Clubs. The first Kiwanis club was founded in Detroit, Michigan
on January 21, 1915. Kiwanis extended into Canada in 1916. In
1962, the organization be made the decision to become truly
International, and currently there are more than 8,600 clubs
with over 300,000 members in 89 nations and geographic areas.
The Kiwanis Club of St.
Helens was chartered, October 28th, 1926, and is the oldest
service organization in our local Community. The Kiwanis Club of
St. Helens prides itself in being able to perform community
service beyond the capability of a single individual. Kiwanians
believe that as a group, they can achieve what individuals
cannot do alone. The historic motto of Kiwanis is "We Build" and
our club has historically worked together to help build a better
community for all.
Kiwanis is a service
organization, not a social club or a secret or political
society. Our meetings are open to the public and we welcome
visitors. The Kiwanis Club of St. Helens meets Every Thursday
12:00 Noon, at the Elks Lodge in St. Helens.
